CEJ '24: BEYOND THE HORIZON

Rise and Shine chalenges us to get back on our feet and shine with the full light of our abilities and ambitions.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

DATE

CEJ will take place from 2.8. to 9.8.2024, arrival is planned on the afternoon on 2.8 and departure on 9.8. after breakfast. The date for IST is from 1.8. to 10.8.2024 to help set up the site before CEJ and clean the camp after.

PRICE

The fee for CEJ is 250€ for participants and 150€ for IST. It includes everything you need – a fully-equipped campsite (except for tents), 5 meals per day, trips and experiences which will be part of the CEJ24.

CAMPSITE

Luckily, the location of the jamboree is accessible by public transport – you can use any train (departing from Bratislava – west of Slovakia or Kosice – east of Slovakia) to get to Turčianske Teplice train station (using Vrútky train station as transfer station), which is only 15 minutes away from the site.

The shuttle buses from the train station to the site will be prepared. First shuttle bus will depart at 12:30 (2.8.2024). For instructions about shuttle bus look for our volunteer at the station.

PARTICIPANTS & IST

🟨 What is the age range of the CEJ participants?

CEJ is intended for participants aged 14 – 17 years.

🟨 Is there some exception for the age limit?

The exceptions are discussed individually. Write to info@cej24.sk for more information.

🟨 I’m older than 18 y.o., is there some option for me?

Yes, we will gladly accept you as part of our IST team.

🟨 What IST means and what is their job?

IST stands for International Service Team. That means you will help us to run the event on the site. You will help with different activities such as workshops, guarding the site, helping patrol leaders during treks or other activities, etc.

Also, it means you should be present on the site from 1.8. to 10.8.2024. (if you can’t be there for the whole event, let us know).

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

🟨 Is registration open for everyone?

Due to the different national specifications, the process of registration is as follows:

For Slovak scout members: Registration is open. You can register via our website www.cej24.sk. The patrol is registered by the patrol leader. ISTs can register themselves.

For Czech scout members: Registration will be open in January. For more information follow the official Czech contingent IG or other official channels of Junak – český skaut.

🟨 I’m not from any central European country, is there any chance to participate?

Luckily yes. If you´re 18 y.o. and older, you can register as IST in the European contingent. If you want to participate with your friends as participants in a patrol, you can register in the European contingent as well, but let us know at barbora.mullerova@skauting.sk.

🟨 What’s the capacity of the Jamboree?

The overall capacity for CEJ24 is 1000 people so hurry up and don’t miss the opportunity to participate.

🟨 When is the deadline for registration?

The last possible date for registration is 29.2.2024, however, registration will be closed after full capacity will be reached.

🟨 How should I pay for CEJ 24?

The instructions about the payment come in the mail when the team or head of contingent approves your registration. The deadline for payment is 31.3.2024. After this date, the unpaid registrations will be invalid.

PATROL

🟨 How many people are in one patrol?

Every patrol consists of 9 participants (aged 14-17) and one patrol leader (18+ years).

🟨 Is there an option to have more or less participants in a patrol?

Unfortunately, we´re adapting activities for patrols of this size. Anyway, if there´s a good reason, you can reach out to us and we will discuss it. Write to info@cej24.sk for more information.

OTHER

🟨 Do I need to speak English?

The main language of CEJ is English since there will be a lot of people from different countries. But you don’t need to be worried about your language skills. CEJ is the perfect opportunity to improve your language skills. You will know what to do and if not, there will be enough people to help you.

🟨 What kind of program will be at CEJ24?

We will reveal more details about the program in the coming months, but you can look forward to a diverse program at the campsite, discovering the region and the wonderful Slovak nature and meeting many people from other countries!
